3

Raise your knowledge and skill level now...and be the support your girl needs.

One thing we know to be true...how you prepare for the arrival of her litter, your frame of mind, level of anxiety and understanding of your support role, will influence the experience your girl has and ultimately the outcome for her and her pups.

So while you prepare for the arrival of your litter...

...invest in preparing yourself well too!

Imagine having the experience of whelping 1,000's of service dogs at your fingertips!

I'm connecting with you to share the last 17 years of my own personal experience planning and whelping service dog litters on several different continents.

Why? Because I really like to see it done well !!

I, and my staff, thrive in an environment where a brood, and her pups, are relaxed, capable, strong, well supported, healthy and well conditioned...and where our support allows our Brood to focus on what her puppies need most - a healthy, thriving, calm, nurturing and interactive mother.

In a world where canine temperament is under scrutiny and well developed canine social skills are essential in our community...we need to ensure the arrival of our litters are stress free and that our Broods are physically and emotionally supported.

In order to support the arrival of an excellent litter...you need to prepared. And I'm not talking about having a whelp box or a whelp kit (although I've got some excellent tips in that department also!)

I'm talking about you! I want you to feel prepared for the unknown, knowledgeable, sensible...and calm. I want you to feel supported...and to be secure in the fact that you have a complete strategy.

How reassuring would it feel to have years of experience at your fingertips...in the comfort of your own home?

  • I support novice, and experienced breeders all the time. For most, anxiety stems from the unknown or uncertainty of how their Broods labour may unfold...
  • Will they know what to look for? Can they manage their emotions and make knowledgeable decisions within a reasonable time frame? How will they know when to call for vet assistance?
  • What I know, and have observed over the years, is that how a breeder prepares themselves for a litter, is important. Our dogs feed off our demeanor and emotional state. Tension and anxiety is not helpful for a Brood in the pre-whelp phase!
  • Being at the point in my career where I have seen and experienced most things possible during gestation and whelp...I am able to support breeders and pass on the strategies that support natural progression to successful litter delivery...but also those strategies and procedures that identify issues and concerns!

A Note From Your Course Coach...

I really enjoy chatting about hands on approaches to welcoming and rearing litters the best way possible!

I have enjoyed training industry staff, community volunteers, hobby dog breeders and sometimes worried novice pet owners to be the most responsible dog carers they can be...

After 5 years studying Genetics, Biochemistry, Animal Breeding and Animal Behaviour, I entered the service dog industry. Over the next 17 years I managed Breeding Programs, Puppy Social Development initiatives, Kennel and Enrichment programs...and I managed and educated people!

My work is extrmeley satisfying and even though I have oodles of experience in practical canine reproduction...I still get butterflies when our latest litter is due! Which is why I completely understand when less experienced breeders phone me close to tears with anxiety coursing through their bodies. The tension can be palpable over the phone!

I felt a need for people to inform themselves in the comfort of their own home, at their pace, about the journey they were about to embark on. A 10 min chat to me on the phone was not able to cut it! I could talk their anxiety back a few steps...but I couldn't pass on a clear, informed strategy in only a few minutes. Which is why I got to work, for you!!

I also prepare myself, so my energy and state of mind is where it needs to be for optimum decision making. I'm looking forward to sharing what I know...with you!
